Organization and Communication

What is OrgComm?
“The Organizational Communication program deals with the different aspects of communication—both in theory and practice—in an organizational setting such as that in corporations or non-government organizations.”
(- DLSU course description)

The organizational setting
An organization is composed of people who work together towards a common goal. The OrgComm practitioner serves as their guide in doing so. He/She handles both internal and external communication that the organization engages in.

My History, OrgComm and I
Before I chose to take up Organizational Communication in DLSU, I wasn’t really sure of what I’m facing and if it’s what I want. I just got carried away by the name—it sounded serious but easy; and the description (see above description) because it mentioned about two things that I wanted—communication and corporation. As I pushed through with it, I had to encounter hardships and failures; realizing that it wasn’t easy after all, but what I like about it is that with each time I get to overcome the hard times, the more I fall in love with the beauty of it. Yes, OrgComm is hard, but as what our professors say, “It’s all worth it.”
